That’s a USCG Martin Mariner. You’ll have to help me out with the car.

Appears to be a C
rosley.

That logo does look familiar but the car almost seems too big for a Cros ley.

A ‘49-’50 CD Convertible Sedan model, to be specific.

I knew that wouldn’t take long.

Good morning!
I’m waiting in the airport to fly to Cleveland for the week. Hope your week looks more exciting than mine!

Well, it’s a symphony week, but it’s a boring program. Have a safe trip, and be sure to wash your hands!

Enjoy the symphony - play your heart out!
On the travel side unsurprisingly the airport was not busy and I have a row to myself on a half empty plane!

Be sure to wipe those surfaces.

With that conning tower on top, it should be the Martin Submariner.

Wipes and sanitizer are sold out in my area.

As noted the car is a Crosley, the early Crosleys had a little CoBra motor, made of copper brazed stampings instead of cast iron. It was very light, little over 100 pounds, so guess what? They used it in airplanes. Supplied in early versions of the Mooney Mite, and also as a generator and power supply in later propeller bombers, B-29, B-36.
Despite the low weight, the engine had longevity issues and didn’t catch on as it might have in small aircraft.

Same here. Use rubbing alcohol.

It has a conning tower. Is it a submarine plane?

Diesel fuel works in a pinch.
